Excellent teachers are all over my family tree—i.e., my mother, sister, wife, several close friends, and most prominently, my mother’s father, Dr. Antonio Rivera (for decades the Chairman of the History Department at The University of Puerto Rico and a noted archeologist). I have three degrees combining English, Theatre and Communications, and two decades as an editor, attesting to my skills as a Language Arts teacher/tutor. I’ve also taught Drama at the University of New Orleans, at Peddie Private School and its summer theatre camps, at Gables Academy in New Orleans, at various performing arts schools, and for decades as an acting coach and English tutor privately in my wife’s dance studio. From 2007 through 2010 I taught Language Arts in Trenton public schools (Daylight/Twilight High School, Joyce Kilmer Middle School, and Grant Middle School—where I ran a Drama program).

At the middle schools my homerooms gave me “Best Teacher” awards. To return to acting, I recently moved on from teaching Drama, directing and producing at West Orange High School. I’ve also won honors directing stage productions on various levels from scholastic to professional, and am currently seeking stage director gigs; but I won’t create a third segment to this website. Contact me for my Director’s Resume. Below you can see a list of Testimonials from previous students (some of whom I taught Acting and some of whom I taught English). I am honored and humbled by their words.
